Abstract

The work highlights the importance of quality scientific dissemination and the remembrance of relevant ancient discoveries, such as those in the book Sidereus Nuncius by Galileo Galilei, written in 1610. This work describes revolutionary telescopic discoveries that challenged Aristotelian ideas. The objective here is to describe an immersive exhibition that could reconstitute the complete text of Sidereus, allowing visitors to, in addition to carrying out Galilean astronomical observations (with a refractor telescope even similar to that of the Italian physicist), directly read the crucial text that marked history. of Science since the Renaissance. The importance of Galileo in the contemporary context is highlighted due to the widespread denial of Science that we have experienced in the last six years, within a political context that has recapitulated obscure facts of human history itself. This denial harmed the education and scientific training of our young people, as well as education in general. The immersive exhibition held included in situ photographs of the Galilean observations made by the PET-FÍSICA group, using telescopes (refractors and reflectors), in particular the lunar relief, sunspots and Galilean satellites on Jupiter.
